Floor Play

Aveline and I have spent most of our time lately rummaging around on the floor. She loves to "swim" on the blanket I lay down, furiously waving her tiny limbs, hoping to move herself from one place to another. She is starting to get around a little better, scooting across her blanket. After a few minutes of frantic swimming, she will raise herself up on her hands, almost like a periscope, to check her progress. Often she sighs, and with great determination, goes back to doing her fervent laps.

She is also getting so frustrated just laying on her tummy, because she has discovered her hands. It is hard to use her hands to grab stuff while balancing her baby weight. She has discovered that sitting up frees her mitts to grab and manipulate objects. She is definitely getting much stronger, as she can almost sit up almost completely on her own. She is still negotiating some balance issues, but the core is there. She is getting to be such a big girl!
