Twenty-One and Rice Cereal to Celebrate

The munchkin is now 21 weeks old. I guess that is nearly five months. I still can't believe it! I tried to feed her some rice cereal today. She looked less than thrilled with it and spit most of it out. I tried it to see what it was like. Yuck. At least I know she inherited my good taste for food! I think I will wait a few more weeks before we try again. Dr. Hein says just breastmilk is fine until 6 months, but if we wanted to try some rice cereal, to go ahead and give it a whirl. It said that the cereal really does little for her nutrition-wise and that she is mostly just getting practice eating solid foods. We may just start her on veggies at 6 months. I wasn't able to take pictures during the feeding as I was trying hard not to have cereal all over!

Oh, I remember tasting that stuff once too. No wonder babies don't want it. None of mine liked cereal. We started better with carrots and sweet potatoes and some fruit. What fun it is though thinking back on those days. Thanks for reminding me!

We'll have to get you a protective mask to wear during feedings!

Yes, I am starting to realize just what feeding a baby will entail. I wonder how Dan will feel about decorating our dining room with a easy-to-hose-down stainless steel.
