Broccoli Monster???

Jill left to go back to Columbus yesterday. I will catch up with her at my parents' this weekend. Aveline and I stayed inside all day yesterday, to escape the heat. It was hot and humid. I don't think the air conditioner quit all day! My plants didn't take the heat well. We are trying to do plant CPR as we speak.

Josh and Laura find out today if they are having a girl or a boy. I think it will be a girl. Dan's guess is boy. We, of course, have to bet on it. I will probably lose, because I always lose! Regardless, Aveline will be so lucky to have cousins so close in age!

Aveline has been going to bed hard at nights. We keep getting later and later. Last night was 10:45pm before she went down. That means I was eating dinner at 11pm. She got up this morning at 9am. We need to dial that back a bit.

Well, I had a rejected meal last night. I tried to go vegetarian and use some of the delicious fresh veggies I got from my family. I used a recipe I found online for the crock pot. Zucchini, mushrooms, green beans, onions, garlic, peppers in tomato sauce with rice. Dan hated it And to be honest, so did I. Needless to say, we didn't save any leftovers for today. I guess we will try something different today. Back to the drawing board.

Ok. Aveline is watching Sesame Street right now. I've counted twelve little segments about eating fruits and vegetables. As I type, Cookie Monster is debating whether he should eat a cookie or fruit. What is the world coming to? Cookie Monster is a Cookie Monster, not a Mango Monster or Apple Monster or even a Broccoli Monster. That is who he is. What is wrong with Cookie Monster eating cookies? I think it is great that they are trying to instill good eating habits in children, but shouldn't that be the parents' job? I know that since Aveline was born, we have been trying to develop better eating habits ourselves. That way, when she gets to the age of eating real food, she will have good role models. What is so hard about that?

Ok...now Ernie is taking a bath with half of the Sesame Street residents...what is that teaching? That bathing with friends is ok?

Enough about Sesame Street. I do have to say that it is very entertaining, still. Dan and I watched this almost thirty years ago. Dan and I still enjoy it today.
