Two Car Family

We are now back in the land of the Dual Car Families. Thank goodness. It had been since July since we owned two operational vehicles, and quite frankly, I was going crazy. I could not go anywhere farther than walking distance while Dan was working. It was also incredibly inconvenient if the girls had a doctor's appointment. Dan would have to leave work, which could not happen, or I had to load the girls into the car, drop Dan off at work, go to the appointment, then pick him up later that evening. The worst was when Dan had to pick me up on New Year's Eve after my shift. He loaded both girls into the car at 1:00am to get me.

It took us nearly six months due to my pregnancy. The transmission went kaput, and that is not exactly a cheap repair. I went on maternity leave shortly after its demise and did not return to work until October. So, as a single income family, some things had to wait. We finally got the money around and were able to get it fixed.

So now I am independent again. I can do the grocery shopping, pick up gifts or go to the library. I am no longer a prisoner in my own home. We can be social again. That is, once the plague leaves the premises.

I'm glad to hear you got your vehicle repaired. It's really tough being a single vehicle house hold with kids. I haven't had to do that in years, but I've been there before.

That has to make things so much easier for you guys!

I seriously don't know how my parents did it with one car for so long.
There is NO way Joe and I could do it now.
